The patent law office was founded in 1999 by Patent Attorney Dr. Klaus Beckord.

Shortly afterward, a move to larger premises was necessary. The law firm found its home in a central location right beside the market square in Holzkirchen, in the immediate vicinity of Munich, the undisputed capital of patent law in Europe.

Our headquarters is located in the “Münchener Oberland“, in range of the breath-taking panorama of the Bavarian Alps.

Patent Attorney Thorsten Niedlich joined the law office in 2004, which has been operating under the name of Beckord & Niedlich since then.

The law office has expanded since then to occupy several floors, since the team has grown continually. At present, our law office has seven Patent Attorneys or European Patent Attorneys, as well as patent professionals, with various scientific and technical backgrounds.

For trademark and design protection, we have an ever-expanding multilingual team with comprehensive experience in legal practice.

A further location was opened in Herford in 2015, bringing us closer to our clients in and around Westphalia.

Our client base includes small, medium and large companies or corporations in Germany and other countries.
